WaterWorks Museum offers summer fun with Cultural Pass

WaterWorks Museum offers summer fun with Cultural Pass
June 2, 2021

The 2021 Cultural Pass, where can you visit WaterWorks Museum, participate in a tour of the Zorn Pumping Station and get creative with some hands-on activities for free, returns to Louisville Water Tower Park this summer! Beginning Wed., June 2 and ending Wed., August 4, the WaterWorks Museum will be open for in-person visits on most Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Louisville’s Fund for the Arts in conjunction with Louisville Free Public Library are working together to offer this exceptional experience. If you are between the ages of 0 and 21, you can get your own Cultural Pass to gain free or reduced admission access to over 50 local cultural institutions for virtual and in-person opportunities.

Here at Louisville Water Tower Park we are proud to be a part of Cultural Pass for the last six years. Last year it was all virtual, where we made an educational video especially for Cultural Pass use, with follow-up activity. This year we will return to our traditional activities but with a slight twist. We are planning on doing timed admissions to limit the number of people in the museum at any one time. Walk-ins will still be welcomed. Walking guided tours will be offered on the hour but will keep our options open if we need to give tours at shorter intervals.

What to expect:  Admission to WaterWorks Museum with exhibits and videos on Louisville Water’s history and how we purify our award-winning water. Hands on activities, available in the Grand Hall, will include: blocks to build your own water tower, make a colorful a distribution system with toy pipes, coloring sheets (crayons provided), and puzzles.
