Construction work leads to road closures along Palatka Road

Construction work leads to road closures along Palatka Road
November 2, 2017
Louisville Water Company is planning important work near the intersections of Palatka Road, Iroquois Park Road, and Cardinal Hill Road. The construction will include installation of a new section of transmission main and new valve installation. This is a critical repair for one of the major supply lines to the Cardinal Hill Reservoir. The work will require the closure of Palatka Road between Manslick Road and St. Andrews Church Road. The project will be completed in two phases.

The first phase will involve some site preparation work with the road closure scheduled from November 13 to November 20. When Phase 1 is complete Palatka Road will be reopened until the start of the second phase. Phase two is scheduled to start after the first of the year, and we anticipate the closure of Palatka Road from January 15 to February 12. The site construction work will be performed by Southern Pipeline Construction Co. The condition assessment work will be performed by Pure Technologies, Ltd. All of this work will be observed by a Louisville Water construction Inspector. Customers will not lose water service during the project.

The construction activities will likely result in some dust, some parking problems, and some general inconvenience to you. Every effort will be made to minimize these negative impacts on your neighborhood. Following construction, all disturbed grassy areas will be re-seeded, and all disturbed paved areas will be repaired and re-striped. Our number one job is to provide high quality water and service. These improvements help to insure a continued delivery of high quality water.
